About Manning:

Manning, is an area of Perth, Western Australia. Henry Manning had originally purchased the land in 1856. Manning was a bachelor in Perth, and his land was managed by his brother, Charles Alexander Manning, who relocated to the colony in 1854 and became the first Mayor of Fremantle. The land was left to the descendants of his brother. Aquinas College was built on 167 acres sold by the family in 1936/37 to the Catholic Brothers. Subdivision took place in 1948 and the suburb was originally named The Manning Estate. Manning eventually became the official name of the area.

In close proximity to Manning is Curtin University and the Perth central business district, which are both 7 kilometres away. There are plenty of green open spaces in the area, and the Canning River foreshore is nearby.

Manning has three primary schools: Manning Primary School on Ley Street, St Pius X Catholic Primary School on the corner of Ley Street and Cloister Avenue, and Curtin Primary School (formerly Koonawarra Primary School) on Goss Avenue.
